Diocesan Council & Convocations

Diocesan Council

Diocesan Council members include: the Bishop, one clergy and one lay representative from each convocation, the Chairs of Finance Committee and of Mission Resources, the Chairs of the Commissions (Evangelism, Outreach, Youth and Young Adult Ministries), one Trustee, an appointed Secretary and an appointed Treasurer. The Bishop’s Canons also attend Council meetings. In January 2006, the Council voted to include a Moderator.

Finance Committee and Mission Resources are Committees of Council.

Council meets at least eight times per year. Meeting dates for the first half of 2006 are:

  • January 26
  • March 9
  • March 25 (retreat at the St. Methodios Faith & Heritage Center)
  • April 20
  • May 11
  • June 8

Convocations

Clergy and Lay delegates to Convention, elected by each congregation, meet as the six regional Convocations, each having two co-conveners. The convocations are:

  • Northern: Berlin, Colebrook, Groveton, Lancaster; Lisbon, Littleton, North Conway, North Woodstock, Woodsville.
  • Western: Charlestown/Claremont (Trinity), Claremont (Union), Hanover, Keene, New London, Newport, Walpole.
  • Lakes: Ashland, Laconia, Meredith, Plymouth, Sanbornville, Tamworth, Tilton, Wolfeboro.
  • Central: Concord, Dunbarton, East Concord, Hopkinton, Pittsfield, Weare.
  • Southern: Derry, Goffstown, Hampstead, Londonderry, Manchester, Merrimack, Milford, Nashua, Peterborough, Salem, West Manchester
  • Seacoast: Dover, Durham, Exeter, Hampstead, Portsmouth (Christ Church), Portsmouth (St. John’s).
