The 206th Annual Convention of the Diocese of New Hampshire

Saturday, November 8. Following morning check-in and credentialing (beginning at 8 a.m.), a forum on the Resolutions will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude promptly at 9:45 a.m. The business meeting will be conducted in a wrap-around Eucharist format beginning at 10 a.m. We will break for lunch at noon. After lunch, the meeting will resume at 1 p.m. and adjourn at 3 p.m. The Eucharist will resume shortly after adjournment.

 

We encourage everyone to attend their convocation meetings on convention resolutions this fall in order to be fully prepared when you come to convention.

 

Information on Nominations.  The offices to be voted on at this year’s convention are:

 

v      For Treasurer of the Convention (to serve for one year)

 

v      For Standing Committee (elect one clergy, one layperson, to serve for 3 years thru 2011)

 

v      For Council Finance Committee (elect one member-at-large to serve for 3 years thru 2011)

The deadline for submitting nominations and the required “Biographical Sketch/Consent Agreement” is August 12, 2008.

In addition, new delegates may also download the delegates’ handbook “What Does It Mean To Be A Delegate” or pick up a copy at their parish office.

 

Resolutions

The Convention Business Committee requests a preliminary draft of all resolutions be submitted no later than May 27, 2008. Resolutions reflecting constitutional and/or canonical changes must be reviewed by the Committee on Constitution and Canons; therefore, it is vital to have preliminary drafts submitted by this deadline. The deadline for submission of final resolutions for printing in the Pre-Convention Journal is August 12, 2008. Resolutions submitted after this date until the date of Convention, must be submitted in accordance with the Rules for Late Resolutions found in the Rules of Order available on the website.
