Winter Gathering for Clergy, Spouses and Families - 2018
This year we will be offering a new type of Winter Gathering for clergy, spouses and families.
On Friday, February 2nd thru Saturday, February 3rd, we will gather at St. Methodios Faith and Heritage Center for a time of collegiality, fun and a chance to get to know one another better. The gathering will begin with dinner on Friday, followed by a bonfire. On Saturday, we will share in activities like games, snowshoeing in the woods, music, arts and crafts, fun and more, ending by 3pm. If you do not want to attend overnight, we hope that you can join us for a festive evening on Friday or for the day on Saturday.
While in the past, the Winter Gathering has been a time for clergy to get away for a break between Christmas and Lent (and began during a time when clergy were all male, many wives didn't work, and salaries were very low; much of which is no longer true), we would like to make a shift in the focus. Since it is often difficult for spouses and families with children to take off the day o Friday (with the old model of a Thursday to Friday event), it meant many people were not able to participate in this event. With this shortened, casual event, we hope as many clergy as possible will attend and strengthen relationships among clergy and clergy families.
Room at St. Methodios can hold a maximum of 2 adults and 2 children and have two beds and a private bath. Linens are included but feel free to bring an extra blanket. Children stay and eat at no charge. Rooms will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. Please register by January 26th at the latest.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
