Welcome
The Episcopal Church of New Hampshire is governed in an inclusive and transparent fashion. All church members play an important role — from day-to-day decisions in parish life to the wider Episcopal Church’s highest policy-making body, the General Convention.
At the diocesan level, the Standing Committee serves as the bishop’s counsel of advice. In accordance with other Canons, the committee fills vacancies in offices elected by the Convention and, in the absence of a bishop, is the ecclesiastical authority of the diocese.
The primary document by which the diocese is governed is called The Constitution and Canons of the Episcopal Church of New Hampshire (available below).
At the congregational level, Model Bylaws (available below) serve as the rules of operation. In effect, they are a road map of the organization's structure and its decision-making processes.
