A. Robert Hirschfeld is a husband, father, painter, writer/poet, sculler and the
Tenth Bishop of the Episcopal Church of New Hampshire

Bishop A. Robert Hirschfeld has served as the Tenth Bishop in the Episcopal Church of New Hampshire since August 2012. Bishop Rob provides spiritual oversight to the 46 congregations and 8 seasonal chapels that are part of the Episcopal Branch of the Jesus Movement in the Granite State. He also serves as President, ex officio, of the Board of Trustees to our two Episcopal Schools: White Mountain and Holderness.

Previously, Bishop Rob served as Rector of Grace Church, Amherst, Massachusetts, St. Mark’s Chapel at the University of Connecticut, Storrs, and Christ Church, New Haven, CT.  He has a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College (English and French) and a Master of Divinity from Berkeley Divinity School at Yale where he was also awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity. 

He is the author of two books, "With Sighs Too Deep For Words: Grace and Depression"and Without Shame or Fear: from Adam to Christ. He is married to Polly M. Ingraham, and they have three children.  He reads, and occasionally writes poetry, paints in mixed media, and sculls on the Merrimack River.
