From wildfires to hurricanes and tornadoes, one thing is constant: being prepared can make recovery easier and faster. The preparedness of individual citizens, families and the whole community is a key element to successfully responding to and recovering from a disaster.
To help make your legacy last this National Preparedness Month, FEMA developed resources to aid in preparedness efforts and recover from an incident.
These resources include:
1. Create your own family emergency communication plan using FEMA’s new online form to help you and your loved ones coordinate on your emergency preparedness efforts.
2. FEMA App – a one-stop shop to plan, protect and recover from all disasters. The app will teach you how to prepare for common hazards quickly and easily, and allows for you to set up to five locations for weather alerts.
3. Created in coordination with the Ready Campaign and the Ad Council, new public service advertisements will be released this month during the peak of the hurricane and wildfire seasons.
