As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain.
For he says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.”
I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.
— Corinthians 6:1-2

Giving Opportunities for Churches and Individuals
We are grateful for the continued generosity of our churches and parishioners to help others. There are four such opportunities tied to the 223rd convention and we may add another, depending on changing needs locally and globally between now and convention:
Bennett Brooks Memorial Scholarship Fund
The family of Bennett Brooks has established the Bennett Brooks Memorial Scholarship to honor his life and memory and inspire others to follow a vocational path—just as Bennett did.
Bennett was the beloved son of the Rev. Tim Brooks and member of St. Paul’s parish in Lancaster, who was known for his strong work ethic, kind heart, and positive presence in the community. He died tragically in a car accident on Nov. 20, 2024, while on his way to class at the Granite State Trade School, where he had just completed his third semester of an HVAC certification.
The scholarship is open to anyone currently enrolled in the HVAC program at the Granite State Trade School as well as high school seniors and people who are pursuing a vocational pathway (not a traditional four-year college pathway) and who have recently graduated from the following schools: SAU 36 (White Mountains Regional Schools), SAU 58 (Northumberland Stark Stratford), SAU 7 (Colebrook), and Essex North Supervisory Union, Vermont (including home schooled students). Applicants must demonstrate their strong work ethic and how they have a positive impact on their community, as Bennett did.
Checks can be made payable to Bennett Brooks Memorial Scholarship and may be included in the offertory during convention worship.
American Friends of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem (AFEDJ)
During worship at Convention, monies collected at the offertory will be directed to the AFEDJ, a longstanding agency of reconciliation and assistance to the Episcopal/Anglican Bishop of the Holy Land. During this time of great strife and crisis, the AFEDJ is offering life-saving medical and humanitarian aid to those caught in the conflict in the Holy Land. Our support is for the “standing for Love” campaign is deeply appreciated. Access more information and direct giving options for the AFEDJ here.
Gift drive for Children of Incarcerated Persons (ChIPS) program
We are grateful to Maggie Mackie-Ciancio and Mimi Caigle, parishioners at Church of the Transfiguration in Derry, for coordinating this program, which enables people who are incarcerated to give a Christmas gift to their child, younger sibling, or grandchild. This year, the program needs gifts and volunteers. Please note that monetary gifts and gift cards are not being collected this year.
Gifts will be collected in the White Mountains Regional High School parking lot and loaded directly into a truck before Convention on Nov. 1. (Please do not bring into, or leave gifts at, the school.) Find gift guidelines and related volunteer opportunities here.
United Thank Offering (UTO)
Churches with a United Thank Offering program are invited to bring their gift to be presented as an offering during convention. Churches should make one check payable to UTO; the diocese will forward the checks to UTO immediately following the worship service. Learn more about UTO here.
